One of the patches will give you 30K in food. Great for lazy starters, and the other gives 1 million tech points, great for impatient starters.
The instructions are there as well. Even though I’ve never tested it on Vista, there are people who left comments with instructions on how to get it to run on Vista. Please check the thread there instead of asking here!

why are you requesting trainers. All you gotta do it set the game to window screen. go to your Windows clock in the bottom left corner and increase the time by an hour or more, go back to the game and the game will have progressed that much time. Then you simply reset your windows clock to its original time.

AznWarGod/ just letting you know that it’s going to be more trouble than it’s worth. Sure, you can easily make a trainer for a specific portal, but there are so many of them!
Patching saves are definitely the way to go – maybe you can find out what the stats re in hex and make a user-friendly saved-game editor? Since saves are shared across portals, that would definitely be easier than trying to defeat DMA over all of their different packaging systems for the memory processes.

Ok…I have gotten the tech points, but for some reason I am having trouble getting the food points to work. When I unzip it and run it, I make the path go to Virtual Villagers – The Secret City1.ldw Should I be placing it else where??? I am looking for a step by step on how to get it loaded, since I keep getting an error message. I can only think that perhaps either the patch isn’t working right or that I am placing it in the wrong spot!! Can someone plese assist me in this?

Hi Sally… You seem to be quite a bright young lady! 🙂 I am in great hopes that perhaps you can help me. Virtual Village 3 is driving me batties!
I came across a posting on VV3 from someone back in Dec 2008 who said he had figured out how to re edit through Hex editor… This is what he said, ” I have achieved the following:
Cured Sick Villagers, Maximum skill level, Pregnant children, Three babies, More than one chief, Maximum Health, Pregnant Men, Changed Apperence, Changed Age, Changed Sex and Changed Likes & Dislikes.
Did you know:
There are a total of 78 Likes & Dislikes.
You can make a child an Esteemed Elder.”
I have tried unsuccessfully to reach this person. AND it seems no one else has a clue either. I have TRIED to watch the Hex editing videos on You Tube..but that is a joke, you can’t see or understand what the heck is happening.
ANY and ALL help would be greatly appreciated.

While I’m sure that’s all possible from changing hex values in the save file, I don’t know if anyone actually made an editor to change those values. When you open up a save file in the hex editor, you can find a list of readable values on the right and each villager has their own “section” – try taking a look yourself and experiment…
It’s actually relatively simple. Take a villager in game, write down all of their values, find another villager with just one value that is the same, go into the file, track down the two, do a comparison to see which one matches the other. This way you find out which “block” changes a value. Then find another villager with a value that you want that block changed to, and just take it and copy and paste.
Reverse engineering is hard. 😦 And I’m afraid I just don’t have the time to track down all those things…that’s why I usually just pick one thing that I can’t live without and mess with that.

To all my peeps who have been desperately trying to find the answer to the “STATUE”
Everyone and I mean EVERYONE will be happy to know I found the solution to our “Pushing the Statue” problem.
Listen this is what you need to do…
If you have the older version of VV3 then you know there is a glitch when you have to push the statue. It always gets stuck halfway up the hill.
Now ONLY DO THIS IF you have a working non-trial copy to re-install your game afterwards.
Backup your VV3 game files from C\Program Files\Virtual Villagers3 and save that to a folder on your desktop.
Download a newer version from the website and install that to use for an hour.
Get the villagers started on the statue again.
When the hour is up, just uninstall VV3 and reinstall with YOUR old copy.
Now all you have to do is just copy and replace with the folder that you saved and continue with your statue.
It may take a while and look like it’s not moving, but have patience, I made sure to test this before I posted.

Elika, to get food faster you can plant more trees in the orchard the way you do that is you fix the Lift then stand on it then you can make it rain or you can wait for it to rain but make sure your person is on the lift before the list fills up with rain

Can you fix the statue if you did the tech points glitch? I can’t, for some reason. my first cheif died, i don’t know if that is the problem but if you could reply to this
