Found at the top right corner of your map, next to the dry grass. | Just to the right of the statue on the north end. | Right above the burial ground, northeast. |
Lower end of the burial ground. | Right side of the mosaic (or puddle) | Smack south end of the map. |
Bear in mind that these aren’t ALL of the combinations, but there are only 16 effects. There are lots of recipes that would make your villagers healthier, and there are also lots that are inedible. I’m only going to provide one recipe for each effect.

November 13, 2011 at 3:53 pm
you can have kids heal people! i have an aprentance doctor who is 3 years old
December 9, 2011 at 11:30 am
I never thought that kids can heal people!! Thanks a lot!!
May 3, 2012 at 11:17 am
How? ? ?
July 14, 2012 at 12:19 pm
Kids can’t be doctors, sometimes they’re born with traits from their parents and then when they turn 14 (working age) they will already have a jump start on a skill. But as kids, they can’t do anything with their skills.
August 5, 2012 at 5:54 am
(yes they can, those of zero faith) I do find it interesting though, i mean they can’t swim, farm, or research, but they can miraculously heal people. wow…. O.O
February 4, 2013 at 7:56 am
That child maybe come in handy later. ha ha…
April 7, 2021 at 7:25 am
Aprentance? I guess he meant Apprentice?
January 29, 2013 at 4:54 pm
How do I make them make stews ? They’ve already studied all the plants .. Now what ?
January 29, 2013 at 5:02 pm
All my villagers are weakened .. I need to make that stew , but it won’t let me , how do I do it ?
February 4, 2013 at 8:04 am
1.upgrade exploring technology to level 2
2.take the cauldron from the wood pile
3.drag villager to the cauldron. action board will say(starting to prepare a stew)
4.do it again. action board will say(adding water to stew)
5.do it again. action board will say(adding food to stew)
6.gather 3 kinds of herb to finish the stew
October 10, 2013 at 3:22 pm
You have to have level 2 of exploration and once you purchase it u will find a pot in the wood pile and drag a adult to the pot and they will take it to the fire, then drag a adult to the pot so they can get water from the pond and take it to the pot the put the villager there again and they’ll get food(you have to have at least 10 food) and drag a villager to any 3 herbs you want.
October 10, 2013 at 3:30 pm
I need to finish the boxed gong puzzle and I already have 2 master builders and my adept only needs 1 more segment to become a master and it’s taking longer than expected but is there a stew to increase building skill?
April 22, 2014 at 4:44 am
Yes there is a way.. I can’t remember it for now but they start exercising and increase in their building skill after they have done. Research on google though you will find it sooner or later.
March 15, 2015 at 2:31 pm
There is one way, as long as you have one more segment
I, too had this problem
If you have the dam, the two houses, and the vines done, take the adept builder and put him on top of the house. If it says examining hut, put him back on it until it says fixing hut. Wait until hes done and he should be a master builder afterwards. If not, keep doing it.
Hope this helps 😄
February 15, 2014 at 4:05 pm
Ok, so I`m almost done with virtual villagers 2, and I asked how do you complete the mosaic puzzle. Somebody answered that u need lvl 2 exploration, but another person said lvl 3 of exploration. I`m confused. Which is it?? Thanks.
February 24, 2014 at 11:33 am
Level 2
February 21, 2015 at 10:41 am
It isn’t exploration. It is level 3 engineering AND culture. I looked it up online. This is the link.
http://www.virtualvillagers.com/strategyguides/thelostchildren/
February 15, 2014 at 4:09 pm
Okay, so on another vv2 comment thing, I asked how to complete the mosaic puzzle. And someone said that u need lvl 2 exploration, and another person said that u need lvl 3 exploration. Im confused. Which one is it??? thanks.
October 29, 2016 at 11:17 am
It’s level 2 exploration.
December 25, 2015 at 1:19 am

This has really helped!
May 12, 2007 at 1:20 am
Awesome! Thanks so much!
May 15, 2007 at 8:44 pm

June 24, 2010 at 11:51 am

February 4, 2013 at 8:06 am

Beat 100 hours. I have ALOT of healers.
May 16, 2007 at 2:19 pm

How did they survive THAT long?
August 6, 2012 at 2:44 pm
i need your help desperately i don’t know how to make triplets or twins please let me now as soon as you can
December 6, 2012 at 7:13 am
You have to update medicine to birth triplets or twins.
May 16, 2007 at 11:05 pm
Boy do these recipes make a difference!
May 21, 2007 at 5:20 pm
thanks this will help but you said that there are 16 effects and only gave 15 recipes was that a typo or did you forget one?
April 5, 2010 at 5:36 pm
can yhew help meh plz its not workii for meh i need help i have 4 dats is bout @ die
July 8, 2013 at 11:52 pm
The first, second, and third herb make a stew that is spicy and clears nose n throat, i didnt see that one one the list. first,
May 21, 2007 at 11:47 pm
The 16th effect is “tastes nasty can’t eat” so I didn’t bother posting it. It’s basically the default for a combination that doesn’t do anything.
February 1, 2012 at 9:12 am
What about if u have algae in the lake how do u get rid of that?
February 16, 2012 at 6:48 pm
You need to have level 3 farming. And a master of either farming or science. Then put your master in the deep lake and they will find an algae eating fish. They need to carry this fish to the ocean Do this like 20 times or until the algae is gone.
February 3, 2013 at 9:36 am
suppose we make that how do we remove it from there
July 28, 2014 at 10:05 pm
you have to get fish out of the pond by putting a master scientist or master farmer in the pond
May 23, 2007 at 8:37 am
That helps a lot, seeing as there are 216 possible stew combinations =/
Much Thanks!
May 23, 2007 at 10:20 am
Hey Frontside_Dave: Read much? It says, “there are only 16 effects.” so the point of listing all the combinations would be?
June 30, 2010 at 11:42 am
Do you read much elle? doesnt seem like it! He says because there are 216 possible recipes (but only 16 effects) its heplful to know 1 of each effect! Just check that you what you think you know before telling someone their not right or someone may tell you your wrong and then youd look stupid!
March 15, 2015 at 2:39 pm
Exactly!
There may be 216 POSSIBLE combinations, but there are only 16 SUCCESSFUL combinations.
May 26, 2007 at 2:57 pm
the highest stews found is 18 i have found 17 but can’t find the last help have had 6 villagers get herbs finally got one tried with master doctor to get all herbs is there a clue to the herbs?
January 19, 2013 at 4:01 pm
too easy method to make an doctor just again nd again read them herb automatic ur doctor skill will goes up
June 1, 2007 at 8:14 pm
to Elle: Read his comment again. Does he imply that all the combinations are needed? No, the part about combinations means “there are so many possible combinations that giving an example combination of every effect is very useful”. And for that he says thanks.
Check your comprehension before you start bashing!
November 18, 2011 at 5:32 am
Dear Tiki. You soo fricken funny!!! U show that person who’s daddy!!! 🙂 p.s.- I don’t get the stew where it said “it burns” is it supposed to be perverted or something? Cuz my big brother made a stew to make his people repopulate faster so that’s probably the stew ? Don’t get me wrong, I’m not joking or making fun of Enyone
June 9, 2007 at 8:07 pm
Excellent list, thank you. (and much cred to Tiki for a good response!)
Wish I’d known about the full health mixture, I had about 4 children die before age 6 from lack of food which was kinda sad. I never even got to see them alive! Just game back after a day at work to find several piles of bones… (sniff)
The 5+5+5 one (burst of energy, exercise) can, but only sometimes, lead to an increase in Building skill. I’ve not figured out why it is, most of the time they run around (and swim) like nutters for ages and then just shake their heads.
Two of my builders who I was trying to max up quickly for one of the puzzles steadfastly refused to get this effect, and yet a scientist who had a sneaky taste gained a chunk of building skill even though she’d never lifted a hammer in her life.. Guess it’s just down to luck.
Thanks again for an excellent and comprehensive list. Now if I can just get two or three master builders alive at the same time…
D
June 12, 2007 at 11:17 pm
Damage:
Could they get the building skills from the rock lifting they do as part of the exercise routine? Don’t know… just a guess.
August 30, 2010 at 10:07 pm
Randomly, yes.
May 5, 2013 at 5:06 am
A better way is to make a cutting tool using the roots near the rocks and find a small chunk of rock on the top-right. U need a master scientist to grab the rock, then afterwards u grab da roots. Set a builder on the thorns in the north (in front of the tiki) and he will start chopping down vines with the tool. Unlike vv4, you have infinite knives (i think XD) Hpe this helps!
June 15, 2007 at 7:35 pm
hey, does anyone noe how to get rid of a bad stew quickly?? i want to start a new one but all it does is keep eating the bad stew and becoming sick. =[ do u have to just eat it all??
August 27, 2009 at 5:33 pm
No u can just exit the game and then log back on the stew will be gone
March 20, 2010 at 10:33 am
or just wait. itll go away if u wait or exit come bak in, OR ou can eat it off.
but third one is stupid
May 15, 2012 at 2:19 pm
u can just fast forward time
July 2, 2012 at 10:01 am
It’s not stupid to eat it if you are trying to get EX as a Doctor…;)
October 14, 2012 at 4:17 pm
That doesn’t work I tried it.
May 27, 2010 at 5:20 am
you can click the change tribe on the menu screen
February 5, 2012 at 5:45 am
You can wait about 15 min then it should be gone
June 16, 2007 at 7:32 am
I find that if you exit the game and then come back the stew is gone.
June 19, 2007 at 12:54 pm
Thanks… this really helped! now all i need to do is get food to put into the stew… 😉
May 5, 2013 at 5:16 am
Do u have lvl 2 farming and engineering? If u do, get ur builders to work on the river next to the strange patch. They will build a dam, creating a farm which is an infinite resource! 😛
June 20, 2007 at 2:13 pm
Thanks, I needed those
June 24, 2007 at 8:06 pm
Thanks, those really helped but how do you throw away the stew?????????
June 30, 2010 at 11:54 am
it goes away after a while if you leave it alone!
August 30, 2010 at 10:09 pm
Or eat it or logout and login after a while.
June 25, 2007 at 11:32 am
I think you have to just eat it all 😦
March 20, 2010 at 10:35 am
no, just exit and come back in, or wait
June 25, 2007 at 1:51 pm
what do you mean by “It burns” ?
[/double post]
June 25, 2007 at 1:56 pm
Pause the game, exit, and reload the game. That should mean no stew.
“Very spicy – it burns!” is what the villager “says” when they eat it (I don’t think it doesn anything else)
February 1, 2011 at 11:30 pm
It takes off a good chunck of health.
June 25, 2007 at 5:30 pm
hehe, i just tried it, i killed a person! :O XD Whoopsie!
June 27, 2007 at 2:20 am
eh.. anyone noe how to cook anade stew?? gosh! i accidently make up the very thirsty one. i need the restore full health. if not d whole village wld die.
June 27, 2007 at 10:47 am
anade stew?
June 27, 2007 at 2:44 pm
I think they meant “another”? heh, i’m guessing, though..
..quick question, “no need to breathe” is what i’m guessing the screen says when they eat that particular stew, but what exactly does it mean? does it help, hinder, or simply feed them?
June 23, 2011 at 4:55 pm
It’s used to retrieve the puzzle piece from the bottom of the pond
December 13, 2011 at 6:29 am
AWESOME – THANKS
June 27, 2007 at 4:25 pm
*pssst* spoiler: If you don’t need to breathe, you can scuba dive.
February 4, 2013 at 7:50 am
you must mix a stew that have (black flower+orange flower+orange flower)
it effects is(Strange stew… your villager no need to breath!) it’s true!
July 6, 2007 at 5:40 am
fab thanks now got loads of babies thanks to that recipes
July 21, 2007 at 1:02 pm
what do you mean by smells sweet does it make the villagers smell sweet or does the stew smell sweet???
February 4, 2013 at 7:51 am
the stew is sweet!
July 21, 2007 at 4:03 pm
the villagers say “it smells sweet” but it doesn’t really do anything…
July 29, 2007 at 7:03 pm
But my messages are different, when I do thew second combination the message is:
“This stew is nasty,it really isn’t edible”
So I can’t make them swim to get the gong inside the pond, what can I do?
February 4, 2013 at 7:54 am
I can’t help you too much x-x but Iwill leave you with a secret code of stew
(bv+of+of)
August 5, 2007 at 11:25 am
just keep trying the stew it should work eventually
August 5, 2007 at 1:39 pm
did that help you?
cuz it it did im good
August 5, 2007 at 1:40 pm
did you master all of the herbs because if you didn’t then it wont work
August 5, 2007 at 4:59 pm
Hey, if i need to get my doctor to ‘master’, how can i do it? he wont keep studying the herbs by himself, and no one is sick… if i used the stew to make people sick, would he be able to heal them?
August 5, 2007 at 5:25 pm
If u want a master healer take the 3rd recipe from the top and ur people will get very sick then take a person and make them heal all the sick people
August 5, 2007 at 8:56 pm
my healer wont gain any more experience… the screen says ‘this villager got better at healing!’ but his bar isnt changing… any ideas?
October 27, 2013 at 9:48 pm
Sometimes even if the villager did increase skill,it won’t show.
August 26, 2007 at 10:15 pm
so i have finished the game in like a week or so that was better than the first one i think
September 7, 2007 at 4:44 pm
hi
there are 18 combinations and not 16 and i have solved all and in my first ranking so i am sure that there are 18 combination of stews
September 12, 2007 at 9:22 pm
Tried more than once to kill off a couple of villagers with the 4+4+5 stew and it made them sick-barely-and that is all.
I spent 15 minutes trying to keep the other do gooder villagers from trying to heal them.
I really needed to get rid of them in order to get some different more productive ones-and I could not.
Finally just ended that game and started again. (couldn’t kill off any in that game either-and NO I am not a warped monster-I just wanted to see if the stew would work in a different game-but it didn’t)
Better luck to someone else
July 13, 2011 at 12:21 pm
I had the same problem. I think you need to use 4-4-4, which you only need to feed to them three or four times, instead of 4-4-5.
September 17, 2007 at 8:04 pm
What are the other two stew if there are 18??? I can’t get these people to gaing tech points fast enough and I have like 7 Master Scientist. What do I do????
November 28, 2010 at 7:03 pm
Did you upgrade the Science tech? I did that, and after I got the 3rd tech for Farming, that really helped me.
September 26, 2007 at 9:20 am
I don’t seem to be able to convince the villagers that they should pick the plant from the south end of the map. They have mastered all the plants and collect herbs for the stew at any of the other 5 positions, but they just don’t seem to like that one that looks like a poinsettia.
Any suggestions?
December 21, 2010 at 10:18 am
either build a dam, or try every person, one of them has to be able to get it! i had the same problem!
September 8, 2012 at 8:28 am
It takes a lot of patience. I had to keep dragging my doctor (could have been any villiger though, i just hoped the doctor would be better at it) on to it again and again until they figured it out. It took 20+ tries though. They were very stubborn on that one.
September 26, 2007 at 11:33 pm
have you cleared the water yet by building a dam? they wont do the red one in the east side of the ruins before you clear it.
March 21, 2014 at 1:26 am
Not true. I got the red one WAY before I built the damn. As long as it’s an adult, they should be able to get it.
on another note…none of my villagers skills will go up. I’m SO close to getting an elder, but I’ve been trying for three days, and absolutely no skill increase on anything. any ideas anyone?
October 2, 2007 at 9:01 pm
Does anything major ever happen after all the puzzles are completed?
September 8, 2009 at 1:26 pm
i do have all the puzzles complete
May 1, 2011 at 8:49 pm
So….DOES ANYTHING MAJOR HAPPEN?..just saying you have them all done isn’t helping anyone..
October 4, 2007 at 3:37 pm
Thanks SO much. That health restore recipe’s great, and I’ll remember that ill recipe in case I get a grumpy old adult. I didn’t even know about the purple flower until I saw this!
October 4, 2007 at 6:48 pm
Yes they will.
October 8, 2007 at 1:36 pm
does the game just go on forever after or do y9ou eventually solve the secret of Isola?
and what are the other stew recipes everyone is mentioning?
October 8, 2007 at 3:40 pm
the game does go on forever after you solve the secret.
I have no idea about the other stews…
October 9, 2007 at 10:16 pm
The stew for breathing does not work. I’ve solved all the puzzle except the piece that I’m told is in the pond. This really frustrates me when there is no solution, Otherwise I really enjoy the game.
August 28, 2009 at 7:46 pm
You have to drag your villagers to the rocks above the pool, so they dive in, rather than straight into the pool.
September 11, 2010 at 5:39 pm
no you don’t have to, but if they don’t have to breathe and you put them in the water they will climb up and jump in on their own
November 30, 2011 at 11:41 am
yeah it does i just did it so keep trying
October 9, 2007 at 10:36 pm
Where did you get your game? That sounds like a bug, and you can report it to the company that sold you the game. The stew for the breathing works for me.
October 11, 2007 at 12:11 am
I ordered my game from the people that made the game. I don’t think they would have put a bug in thier own game. Mine isn’t a download, I have it on a CD.
October 12, 2007 at 8:20 am
The “no breathing” stew works fine. Made out, dived in the pond, got my piece of gong puzzle no problem.
October 12, 2007 at 8:21 am
oops…that should be “made IT” not made out lol
October 12, 2007 at 9:20 am
Evelyn, bugs aren’t something that you put into the game…they’re just little mistakes that are never caught and sometimes makes it to a retail version of the game, and might need to be patched.
Your best bet is to call / email LDW, give them your game’s version number and see what they say.
October 12, 2007 at 10:55 am
Are you getting the right combination of herbs for your stew, Evelyn?
October 21, 2007 at 1:09 am
Hello! Fantastic recipes! I could have never found the recipe which helps you breath underwater!!! Now I am stuck and desperate! I have got 36 totems but I can’t retreive the fourth piece of the gong. Is there anyone who could help? Thanks!!!
November 28, 2010 at 7:09 pm
I believe that to get the last piece of the Gong of Wonder, you have to uncover the mosaic first. Then, you have to put one of the totems in the middle of it. Sorry if this doesn’t really help, or if this is the wrong piece your talking about. Oh, and to uncover the mosaic, you have to have researched both level 3 Engineering Tech, and level 3 Culture. Then your builders can uncover it.
May 20, 2012 at 7:16 pm
thank you sooo much
October 22, 2007 at 2:43 pm
Hi guys i really like this game 🙂 thanks for recipes but my villagers are never sick so i used just the puzzle one ^^
October 22, 2007 at 2:44 pm
to areti:
Use the second recipe and then just put the one who ate it to swim in the lagoon ;)) Hope I helped you
October 22, 2007 at 3:12 pm
Oh, thanks CeDil, but I didn’t mean that piece. I meant the one at the ancient place. I keep putting totems in the middle but nothing happens!
August 19, 2009 at 6:06 pm
did you clear it yet? you need lvl3 building and i think a master builder to clear the ancient place.
October 29, 2007 at 12:11 am
What happens when you ring the gong?
October 29, 2007 at 12:51 pm
Katie/ random things, mostly good. There’s one that makes all the women pregnant which I find pretty funny. 😀
October 30, 2007 at 1:48 pm
Awesome! I just discovered this game last week. It’s really entertaining. I have another question, however. How does one gain builder points if there’s nothing to build?
October 27, 2013 at 9:54 pm
You can fix huts
October 30, 2007 at 2:00 pm
Katie/ you could inspect buildings I believe.
October 30, 2007 at 2:21 pm
thanks this website really helped me!!
October 30, 2007 at 2:22 pm
for how long does the pregnant people take? (in game time)
October 27, 2013 at 10:00 pm
It depends on game speed. If it’s on paused it’s like 15000 min.but that’s just a glitch.if it’s on slow it’s around 400 min.if it’s on normal it’s about 240 min.if it’s fast,it’s like 120 mins.
Sorry I didn’t post faster or if I did late, I didn’t read your comment until now
November 3, 2007 at 10:45 pm
There are only 56 possible unique combinations of three herbs (since order doesn’t matter). There are 16 different effects, but the game actually recognizes 18 “special stews.”

3rd : 456
so the total is 18 special stews
November 9, 2007 at 9:47 am
just a lil correction. the first herb he has listed is on the top left corner of the map by the dry grass. not the right corner.

November 10, 2007 at 2:43 pm
I cant get any of my villagers to become elders. they all get to be master scientist pretty quick, farmers take longer, but to get master builders take forever. I cant open the crate or get a totem i’ve built all the structures ( 2 huts, the dam, sewing hut, hospital and repaired damaged hut and still only adept buliders. I have made all the stews but no effect on bulding skills. as soon as someone gets close they are too old and die. and how do you get a master doctor or parent?
August 19, 2009 at 6:10 pm
another way to gain building is to clear trhe thorn bush.
June 5, 2013 at 12:58 pm
4 master parent and no baby get a woman 50+ and a man and drop one on top of the other,4 master doctor use the sick stew and make the villager heal them.
November 10, 2007 at 3:38 pm
dizzi/ I usually only have a few builders at a time – that way I’m sure to have master builders instead of spreading the skill around. I also only have ONE master doctor at a time and one adept for backup.
Just keep healing people with your doctor – basically have a whole lotta farmers for practicing on. Make that “make people sick” stew a lot and have the doctor go around healing.
November 11, 2007 at 1:07 am
Areti:
Have you excavated the whole area yet? I don’t remember whether any villager can excavate or whether you need a master at something.
November 12, 2007 at 9:12 am
you know in puzzle 16, you drop the totem in the middle of the mosaic, I id but it didn’t assemble the gong PLEASE HELP!! That’s the only thing I have to do left (except for the collections)
November 12, 2007 at 6:04 pm
did you get your game off reflexive? They HAD a bug in the game for the longest time (a BETA version was uploaded by LDW by accident) but it was fixed. Email wherever you bought the game and let them know – redownloading it off the site might help, depending on when you got it.
November 17, 2007 at 8:27 pm
Sally frontside_dave i refuse that there are 216 recipes of stews. If you can prove it I will belive. so give the following recipes of stews.
November 19, 2007 at 10:18 pm
55 is the magic number since the order of the herbs doesnt affect. use excell…
… one question… how come the game recognizes 18 “special stews”… which are the another 2???
November 23, 2007 at 11:22 am
Thanks this helped alot!!
I love these resipes!
November 25, 2007 at 12:29 pm

December 6, 2007 at 7:59 am
ou sr, gong is making women pregnant. Did anybody find a stew which can do this?
December 8, 2007 at 11:16 am
thanks i really needed these
December 9, 2007 at 10:12 pm
How do you remake a stwew if you already make opne? because in my thing i made this bad stew and dont know how to make another one and make that one go away.
September 11, 2010 at 7:55 pm
just go to a different file and come back and it will be gone. Or you can exit the game and come back in.
October 27, 2013 at 10:05 pm
Wait for like 15 mins then the stew should be gone.
December 9, 2007 at 10:13 pm
sorry for the typos
December 10, 2007 at 9:23 am
how long does it take for stew to cook . So villagers can eat it
November 27, 2010 at 3:25 pm
dumb ass
December 11, 2007 at 1:18 pm
It takes no time for stew to cook, you have to continuously drop a villager on the pot til he’s confused. Then send a villager to check out the herbs. You have to also send a villager to eat.
December 16, 2007 at 7:37 pm
i cannot get anyone 2 b a master builder, 1 person was all. plz help.
November 28, 2010 at 7:14 pm
I have the same problem, but one thing I do is keep dropping my people onto the huts I’ve already built, then eventually they will try to fix the damage that was made, and gain construction exp. Hope I helped.
December 23, 2007 at 3:23 am
how do you get a person to be a master at 3 things?
May 22, 2012 at 8:48 am
you have to keep changing their career, so as soon as they turn 14 put them to work, they can master in about 6 yrs when they r young, check them about when they are 20 yrs old they should a master of that, them change them to another. then again, i save building and research for last so the older they are they dont have to move as much because they are slow as they get older. so if you have a mastery of research for last or building if your village is built up like mine they have less traveling. and you can get them to master faster.some children come with mastery from thier parents, check that …hope this helps.
December 23, 2007 at 11:10 pm
i got the stewpot but i cant find it anywhere… where is it? plzz help bcoz food is going to be over and the sea is filled with algae…
October 27, 2013 at 10:10 pm
Look in the wood pile you’ll see something black,a cauldron.(just don’t mistake it for a collectable like I did):P
December 26, 2007 at 5:40 pm
Two weird things happened today, one was called “old friends” two villagers from the other side of the island went into the cave and fell down the waterfall. Now they are working like the rest of my people but they were NOT part of my vv1 game. Happen to anyone else? Second, a villager found a crystal ball and I had the choice to keep it or let the kids play with it. I choose KEEP IT and now two of my villagers have switched bodies (one male, one female) is there a way to switch back? Its pretty wierd my male farmer running around in a dress and all.
May 3, 2012 at 4:48 pm
wow sounds weird
July 1, 2012 at 7:58 am
Whoa. Strange.
December 26, 2007 at 5:45 pm
There’s no way VV2 could know where you VV1 people were, so they just threw in two villagers at random. As for the Cyrstal ball, I’m afraid the effects are permanent.
These random things are what make the game so much fun. 😉
July 23, 2009 at 1:41 pm
where can you find the stew pot, and how do i get more tech points to get master builder?
May 1, 2011 at 9:18 pm
The stew pot is in the drift wood.
December 27, 2007 at 10:51 am
Does anyone know how to gain tech points faster. I have 8 people researching and can’t seem to get points very fast. I have level two on everything in the technologies area except farming which I have a level three.
Please help!!!
September 2, 2009 at 10:23 am
Here is a trick to get mutilple collection items so you can get more tech points when you see a collection item pause the game (you can pause the game by pushing the space bar)and drag 2,3,4,or even 5 kids (or as many as you want) and put them on top of the collection item and make sure that it says on the kids action collecting item for scientist and when you have all of the kids on it press the space bar again. Some of the kids will collect it some wont (sometimes only 1 kid will collect it!) This cheat should work because it does on my game. It won’t give you a lot of tech points but it will give you some! This Cheat also works with the mushrooms!!!!!!
October 27, 2013 at 10:13 pm
Either upgrade research or bring multiple kids to one collectable at the same time.
January 1, 2008 at 2:20 pm
How do I make a master builder? I need an elder!
Please help
January 1, 2008 at 2:27 pm
build, build, build. When you can’t build anymore, INSPECT.
December 3, 2009 at 11:06 pm
For elders you master science then master farming/building then (if male) wait for a female to become 50 then drop him on her so it says “going in doors” then pich him up and repeat
January 1, 2008 at 2:35 pm
Ok, that sorta works, but (and I know this has nothing to do with stew, I was hoping yall could help) theres this guy who needs only an inch more of buliding points, everytime I make him build this person who is obbsessed with getting a baby embraces him!
I try to get her to stop and get her pregnant with someone else to keep her bust, but she wont leave him alone, thats been happening for about 20 game years and she still hasnt had a kid!
help!
January 1, 2008 at 2:52 pm
 REALLY!
Did you check her screen to see if she’s assigned as a “parent”? Maybe assigning her to something else, like farming, would work.
Or you could give her a stew that would make her really sick, if you want her gone for good…
January 1, 2008 at 3:06 pm
Ok, I will try that and get back to ya, thx sally
January 1, 2008 at 3:21 pm
ok, great tip, Not the killing her off one, I just made her love building, she has finaly accepted no man will ever love her
October 15, 2010 at 10:05 pm
She was probably too old to get preggo anymore.
January 2, 2008 at 10:52 pm
to:james
simple. start him (or her) as builder, because that takes the longest. then, when they master that, start them on farming because thats the next longest. then, start them on science, because that takes the shortest.
January 3, 2008 at 8:59 am
instead of killing off villagers who don’t like to work i get the healers to cure them. then i make them sick again with the stew, and then the healers cure them all over again and get more training!
so they do have a purpose after all. lol
June 5, 2013 at 1:06 pm
thx thats really helpful
January 3, 2008 at 9:36 pm
Hey my people don’t grow up anymore..
Can anyone help me? I’ve left my village on x2 speed for days, and still, I have a people at the same age that I left them..
Plus, all the nursing ladies are stuck that way! Their nursing time doesn’t change!
HELP!
January 4, 2008 at 11:25 am
to: lexi
that is really weird. maybe its a bug?
January 5, 2008 at 7:34 pm
a little tip to everyone- if you want your villagers to have kids, set them to parenting, but after they have kids SWITCH THEM BACK!!!!!! otherwise, you’ll be overrun by kids. thats what happened to me. i was trying to get more people, but then i got in trouble and had my computer taken away, and now im worried i wont be able to support everyone.
January 5, 2008 at 8:07 pm
hey, can someone help me? i have level two culture, but the sewing hut foundation hasnt shown up yet. this is the first time this has ever happened, and ive had several games before.
June 5, 2013 at 1:09 pm
u need level 2 science
January 5, 2008 at 11:48 pm
Cypress- you also need level 2 science. I did he same thing!
January 6, 2008 at 1:23 am
I Started giving my little 6 year old Gin the Burst of energy (make them exercise) Stew. He’s Now 10 and an apprentice Builder, with nearly Half of his building bar full. So hopefully by the time he’s 17/18, I’ll have another Master builder (no.5).
January 6, 2008 at 6:31 pm
thank u so much lexi!
January 7, 2008 at 5:20 pm
my villagers are spearing fish. i think it is kinda creative.
January 7, 2008 at 7:15 pm
my villagers are spearing fish. i think its kinda creative.
January 9, 2008 at 8:18 pm
What do you do with a kid that doesn’t like running? He’ll pick up a collectable then walk veeeerrrryyyyyy slowly (slower than my elderly people) to the science hut.
January 9, 2008 at 8:35 pm
angel/ you can kill them. 😐 If you have the heart…feed them something icky and don’t cure them.
“dislikes running” is the ultimate annoying genetic trait, but VV doesn’t seem to work with natural selection. :p
November 28, 2010 at 7:21 pm
Instead of killing them, I would just wait until they are grown up, and in the mean time don’t give him an item, and put him/her on the research table, you don’t have to move a lot there, and you can make him/her a master.
ONLY DO THIS IF YOU HAVE PATIENCE!!!!!
October 27, 2013 at 10:30 pm
Or you can wait until he turns 14 it’s less irritating when he’s an adult or teen
January 10, 2008 at 4:25 pm
I have one guy who is only about 1/4 inch (or less)away from becoming a master builder, but he will not go any further than that, I keep having him inspect and fix the huts, but the meter won’t move! Any suggestions? The exercise stew doesn’t work either.
December 16, 2011 at 7:50 am
Try using the exercise stew, im using it, and it gave my adept points
December 16, 2011 at 7:53 am
ALSO, did you try both of them?
January 11, 2008 at 7:00 pm
None of my villagers have gotton any older than 88. How do you get them to age older say 92, 93 etc. Thanxs, Cherie
January 13, 2008 at 9:36 am
i only have 1 villlager left, but i know that some island events give u people. does anyone know how to influence these events 2 happen?
December 16, 2011 at 7:53 am
Use the gong, it can make ur women pregnant
January 13, 2008 at 6:08 pm
@ Lexi:
That happened to me too. I just ended the game and started a new one. So far I haven’t heard of any other solutions… Sorry! Your best shot is to just stop the game because your villagers won’t grow old and your mothers won’t let their babies go.
January 13, 2008 at 9:41 pm
It is so hard to get the collectables and win the game. I have all the other things you need to do to win but that.
January 14, 2008 at 12:12 am
cypress/ just keep the game running – if the villager dies, there’s a chance that the game might send you a new set of 4. There are random events to save you from complete restart. I have no idea what triggers them though.
Taylor/ technically you’ve won when you assembled the gong- the collectibles are just for fun. You know what makes it easier? go into your VV2 directories in your computer and convert the background images to gray. Then all the collectibles will stand out!
February 27, 2011 at 3:00 pm
How do you convert your bckground images to grey?
January 14, 2008 at 10:09 am
Thanks Sally that really helped!!!
January 14, 2008 at 10:11 am
I am weird. My name is amber and I can not get anything on the game.
January 14, 2008 at 2:12 pm
I reached the farming tech level 3, i have a master scientist when i drag him to the pond, he doesen’t get the algae eating fish
what can i do ?
June 22, 2011 at 1:06 am
Actually rose you need master FARMER and you nedd to do this a couple of times to clear the algea
May 3, 2012 at 4:56 pm
Noooooo what you need is both of thoze AND the no need to breath stew
June 5, 2013 at 1:14 pm
try it with a famer
January 14, 2008 at 3:10 pm
rose, I think you need to go to the ocean first, then it will say something about needing algae eating fish, then go to the pond to collect them. I hope that’s what will help you.
January 15, 2008 at 2:40 pm
Thaks Wendy,I´d to wait for someone who becomes a master farmer then he get the algae eating fish
how may villager can you have?
January 17, 2008 at 7:09 pm
What ever happened to the one villager that was incharge of the children in the first of the game that left them stranded.
January 17, 2008 at 9:56 pm
I´m traying to find tofo too, but….mission impossible
January 18, 2008 at 5:43 pm
to: sally
thank u soooo much, i left the game running and now i have 3 people, plus an unborn kid.
that “old friends” event happened.
January 19, 2008 at 11:58 am
It might sound stupid but…. it’s still a solution to have more Esteemed Elders, so more totems in your game :). Make sure your villagers are masters in two of the skills and leave the third skill for parenting. Then take a woman and a man but be sure that the woman can’t make babies anymore. Drop one on the other and, depending on your own skills (patience and reflexes :)), in about 15 minutes you could have 2 masters parent. Each kiss means an improving at parenting. Just keep dropping each of them on the other. I know… I’m crazy… 🙂
January 21, 2008 at 5:28 pm
my sisters tribe is nearly lost. only kids left. she also has no food. they are all weakened, and only two of them really have a chance to make it. shes not that far in the game, so im not sure that they’ll send her new people what should she do?!?!
ps: my builder is building a lot right now, but the bar isnt moving. right now, hes about my only chance 4 an elder. plz help. ASAP!!!!!!!!!!!!
October 28, 2013 at 9:20 pm
first of all,my builder is exactly like that and I only need one more builder for the crated gong peice and he is an inch close and he won’t become a master.
October 29, 2013 at 9:29 pm
Never mind(finalyyyyyyy yessssss!!):)
January 24, 2008 at 9:18 am
the guy who was supposed to be my elder died. but now i nearly have an elder who is younger. and my sister’s villagers all died, so never mind on that.
January 25, 2008 at 8:36 am
my builder has about a centimeter more until he’s a master, and i’ve made all the huts, so im having him inspect and fix, but the bar isnt moving. what should i do?
January 26, 2008 at 2:04 pm
hey, does anyone know how to find out what happened to Tofo, the guy who was supposed to be watching the kids?
January 26, 2008 at 5:24 pm
do the totems have value after the person who they r honoring dies?
January 26, 2008 at 8:27 pm
I have a question about totems. I have 3 tribes going at once and my first tribe I have 50 totems and now I have several who are Masters in the 3 areas but it has stopped giving me totems. Is 50 the limit? Also, the tribes keep talking about a mysterious old man with a white beard and another saw his face in an ancient mirror. Could that be Tofo? Or maybe it is just Santa lol One of my girls heard voices speaking in the bush and so being nosey I sent her to investigate and she was never heard from again think they are going to explain that in a possible 3rd VV? And make sure you ring the gong once it is assembled with someone who is expendable because I sent a guy I liked and instead of granting food or wisdom or blah blah it zapped him lol He just dissappeared. :S This game is addictive and I am stilllll missing one of each item!!! Hubby’s tribe has 2 collections completed and he just loves rubbing that in my face because I have been playing much longer then he has lol
January 27, 2008 at 9:48 am
i have solved all the puzzles and gotten the entire gong of wonder! now all i have left are the collectibles! then i REALLY want to find Tofo. does anyone know how to?
February 3, 2008 at 6:15 pm
It helped me A LOT!
Much thanks!
February 3, 2008 at 6:16 pm

March 10, 2008 at 4:26 pm
Two comments:
1. I have a villager who dislikes running and is so slow, I didn’t know why at first. Not to mention, he dislikes swimming too! It drove me nuts, one time there was a food problem, I had NO FOOD, I saw a mushroom, dragged him to it, and he took so long before he got to the food pile the computer/he forgot he had it and he dropped it! I changed his name to La -z- boy, although now he is a master builder!
2. One villager I am attempting to turn into a village elder, however he is master at farming and research, but I have nothing to build and building skill is so slow. So I chose parenting and had him teach the children. Then I took my eye off him for just a second and guess what? I had another baby. My village was half kids already, and we are facing famine! But that’s not all. While I was cursing and attempting to drown the woman and the baby, this old man decided to get ANOTHER lady pregnant. I’m sure you can guess why I changed his name to Imbecile.
I don’t know if I’ll kill the guy yet.
March 16, 2008 at 8:23 am
that villiger must be a “beep”
don’t kill him and just try to possibly change to doctoring where he will heal and study plants
March 19, 2008 at 3:18 pm

March 23, 2008 at 5:57 pm
When I lift my first totem I dont get a gong…
March 24, 2008 at 6:59 am
I solved all the puzzels, but my gong won’t ring ?! It only rang the first time when I assemblemed it. Now all the villagers who I take to the gong are just admiring the gong casing aaaahhh.
I have been trying for 3 days now, please help
March 24, 2008 at 7:25 am
chain, you have to place the totem in the middle of the mosaic after this one is uncovered. Then you will find the gong piece.
March 24, 2008 at 7:29 am
princesswimmer, after you find the pot and it stands at the fire, drop a villager on it. It will shift the pot and “starting to prepare the stew”. Than you need to collect three herbs to add to the stew by dropping villagers on the desired herbs. They will be “adding a herb to the stew” Than drop a villager on the pot to add water and lastly drop one on the pot to add the food. Your stew be ready to eat.
Hope this helps
March 24, 2008 at 9:19 am
Hey, I need to know when is the time for the random event choices. I never know when they are going to appear and i REALLY want to cuz i cheat by turning my computer clock up an hour to speed up time. PLEASE HELP!
March 24, 2008 at 9:19 am
Anyone know the specific time when collectables appear?
March 24, 2008 at 9:21 am
How is the fastest way to get food? I have been playing 4ever and my villagers always die because i can’t get to level 3 in farming! Any suggestion? PLEASE.
November 19, 2009 at 8:15 pm
buy the 2nd level in farming and build a dam! then you can farm! (it barely ever runs out but it takes forever to build it!)
July 29, 2012 at 6:53 am
But when u build a farm, the longer you use it, the longer for the new crops to appear, that’s why you have to do some strategy like pausing the game if your not around for a long time
March 24, 2008 at 9:22 am
Where and what is the mosiac?
March 24, 2008 at 5:43 pm
I thought I was the only nucklehead lookin for stew recipes for a stupid game
March 27, 2008 at 2:56 pm

HELP!!!
March 27, 2008 at 10:54 pm
Now I’ve got a young girl who LIKES running and she just zips around everywhere, even in water! It’s kinda cute, she’s like a torpedo.
March 27, 2008 at 11:00 pm
A few questions:
1. What are those karate dudes doing on the mosaic on the picture at the top of the page?
2. I have assembled the mosaic and everything fully researched, what do I do now?
3. Do I ever find out what happened to the original inhabitants/the missing parent?
4. Does level 3 exploration do anything other than more collectibles?
March 28, 2008 at 11:15 am
Nevermind #1
March 28, 2008 at 1:42 pm
so theres a 3rd one coming out!!
anyone going to play??
its called Virtual Villagers: the secret city
March 30, 2008 at 5:05 pm
Course I’m gonna play! It sounds like the coolest one of all!
March 30, 2008 at 6:29 pm
These stew recipe hints are so great! Thanks for taking the time.
Maybe I’m being dumb, but how does one make a stew? I’ve discovered all the herbs, and then I have one of my villagers go to the blank flower and then twice to the red flower at the bottom of the village. I thought that’s what it would take to make the stew, but nothing happened. Do I just have to keep trying? Or am I doing something wrong? Thanks!!!
June 30, 2011 at 2:27 pm
To make stew, you will need to have purchased Level 2 of Exploration Tech, retrieved the cauldron from the wood pile, mastered at least one of the special plants, and started a fire in the fire pit. The steps to make a stew are: 1) Drop a villager on the cauldron to put the cauldron on the fire 2) Drop a villager on the cauldron again, and he or she will go get water for the stew 3) Drop a villager on any of the mastered plants, and the villager will gather herbs for the stew. Each stew requires a total of 3 herbs, in any combination. 4) Drop a villager on the cauldron again, and he or she will go get food to add to the stew. When the stew is complete, the villager will move the cauldron off the fire.
March 30, 2008 at 9:47 pm
Well, I figured out that I needed the cauldron! I found it and when I sent a villager to go pick it up, I accidentally clicked on her again after she had the cauldron and then it disappeared. Please Help! Does it come back later???
June 5, 2013 at 1:26 pm
yes it dose
March 31, 2008 at 2:48 pm
It did not happen to me, but try restarting the game.
March 31, 2008 at 2:55 pm
I’ve got another kid, this time a little girl named Aida, who dislikes running. I’ve used the burning stew. She only has a teeny bit of health left. Should I kill her?
Also there’s this really ugly dude named Baldo. Should I kill him while I’m at it? I know it sounds mean but they’re just bunches of pixels.
March 31, 2008 at 2:59 pm
Too late! I killed them both.
March 31, 2008 at 3:02 pm
And there goes another one! Heh heh, this is fun!
March 31, 2008 at 3:05 pm

Do the coconus grow back?
July 18, 2009 at 8:56 pm
Yes they do. At least on the iphone/ ipod touch version. I had about 10 left then once my first crop was ready to be harvested it said that my reamining coconuts was 40 but that was like 10 years after the source was depleted so apparently they grow back veeeerrrrryyy ssslllloooowwwwwwllllllllyyyy!

May 4, 2008 at 5:24 pm
i need help no one seems to want to pick up the gong piece from the crate its the last thing left undone in my game!!! *frustrated*
May 11, 2008 at 4:51 am
The gong piece in the crate could only be opened by “3 Master Builders”. Pause the game by pressing the space bar, then drag your 3 Master Builders to the crate and press the space bar to continue. Once the game resumed they will automatically work on it and 1 Master Builder will carry the gong piece in your research hut and Voila! Celebration!
May 11, 2008 at 4:54 am
Here is a nice site for cauldron recipes. It helped me a lot!
November 4, 2011 at 11:26 pm
That’s this site, lol!
May 12, 2008 at 11:44 am
I have a bugged version of this game, the last piece of the gong simply doesn´t appear, yes I know how to get it but the method doesn´t work, now I´m trying to find a patch to beat the game since I have everything else.
May 15, 2008 at 10:35 pm
I have cheated/tricked this game. But not the food and tech points but the time i consumed playing this game. you can adjust your windows clock setting to advance it to 1 hour or more.
Reminder before doing this tricks.
Be careful, you must have enough food and all your people are healthy. Or else all your villager will die quickly. And dont adjust the clock to much. Adjust it precisely so that you can maintained monitoring all your villagers status.
This will solve your long wait of gaining food and tech points. then you can adjust your clock back again to the real time. But be sure that your target will be met first before you adjust it back. Turning back the time will not be take effect if the farm is not in harvest season, because it will only add more time to your farm to grow. Be sure before you turn back the time it is harvest season. Lolz.
Enjoy!
May 24, 2008 at 7:51 am
need help, so i tried to make a few of my villagers master parents.. got to half and refuses to go further.. this is with both male and female. so i decided i will give my hand at making a master healer instead… ive cooked up the “feel sick” one about 3 times… healed over 100 ppl… taken him around the island around 10 times to go look at each of the strange plants, but he refuses to go just over adept doctor. as is… hes my only chance of an elder… he is mastered in research and farming. im loving this game, just sometimes it gets confusing how to achieve a goal when ur villagers wont co-operate. thanks for the time to help me 😛
May 27, 2008 at 3:42 pm
Thanks for all the help so far ,, Rasio why never mind the kungfoo training , I have been trying to figure it out ,,I bet they don’t really do it do they ? and someone somewhere said there was a mirror you have to find ,Is that real , thanks for the help.
June 1, 2008 at 12:12 am
R there any other effects, like, for instance, making the girls able to have kids from 14 or if thats heresy 16 or 17?
June 1, 2008 at 4:44 am
very helpful hints. I feel like a cheat though but it has nade the game much more interesting – lots of hints and tips by putting virtual villagers hints and tips into google search engine.
June 7, 2008 at 1:33 pm
wat happens after u finish all the puzzels on virtual villagers 2
June 10, 2008 at 11:03 am
After you finish all the puzzles. Well that’s pretty much it. You can maintain your village by coming back each day and ringing the gong, relight the fire and repopulate the village.
Have you collected all the collectables? With each collection completed you get an additional 5 people to the total population
June 11, 2008 at 2:55 pm
Very helpful. I got the 1st peice of the gong 🙂
Is there anyway to get rid of the algy so my villagers can fish again?
June 13, 2008 at 4:34 pm
I found a stew that make the villagers need to go to the toilet, however I don’t remember which flowers I have used to do this one sorry.
June 17, 2008 at 4:41 pm

June 18, 2008 at 7:45 pm
Hi! I wanted to try the thing where you change background colors.. But it won’t let me, the files are locked. Anyone else tried?
Thanks
June 30, 2008 at 7:21 am
i don’t get the thing with turn the background colour into grey, how do you mean?
July 6, 2008 at 9:40 am
Thanks, I needed it after them not having food for 9 hours in a row!!!
July 26, 2008 at 10:47 pm
ummm… this question is for the third game… my sister was playing it, and we had to go somewhere, so she paused the game, then, when we got back, she had more food, the tree was mature, a woman had had her baby and was pregnant again… has this happened to anyone else? thanks, bye
July 27, 2008 at 4:56 pm
Thanks if i hdn’t found this site i would have been up a creek with out a paddle
i havent tried any stews yet any advice on the first one i should use?
August 6, 2008 at 11:14 am
Simple way to change collectables into visible images. I found this to be a little faster than changing all the background images.
Click on My Computer, Local Disc (C:), Program Files, Virtual Villagers, Images.
Now the fun part. Locate collectables_images and right click. Choose Open with… Paint. File will open. Color entire picture white. Now click File, Save As. Just add a 2 to the end of the file name. Close Paint and go back to the Images folder. Change the name of the original by adding the number 3 at the end of the title and change your new “white” image back to collectables_images with no number. Now, when your collectibles show up on screen in the game, they will appear as a white box. To revert back to the original images, just swap the filenames as you did above.
Now you will not know which item you are collecting, to do that you will need to get creative and edit each item with some sort of bright color or just shade the outer part of each box with the white. I was just looking for quick rather than creative.
Enjoy!
August 6, 2008 at 11:23 am
Getting collectibles faster:
When you are at maximum population, just put a couple together for some kiss kiss time. The bells will ring and a collectible will appear. You can watch for it in the map view, particularly if you have changed the items to white as in the post above.
Enjoy!
August 11, 2008 at 11:18 am
Hey I’ve got a tip!
If you have a villager that likes to run,
Make him a builder so the construction will get done faster!
August 11, 2008 at 11:22 am
Another tip:
When your trying to get your villagers to mate, if they kiss and the population goes up, move both of them, because there will still be a baby in seconds, your just wasting time having them goes inside.
August 16, 2008 at 3:42 pm
hey guys, you seem to have a lot of expirence with this game. i just bought the second exploration and brought the couldren up. however, i minimized it to get online. when i got back there was no caloudren anywhere. where did it go?
August 19, 2008 at 8:44 pm
Hey, guys, here’s a tip no one seems to have posted. When you make the stew that makes them jump (the one that they’re “allergic” to), you automatically get 30 coconuts in your tree, you just have to drag the villager that ate the stew over to the tree. It only works once per stew, though, but it does help if you’re in a bind running out of food, at least temporarily.
August 19, 2008 at 9:44 pm
BTW, this only happened the first 2 times I made this stew. After that, nothing happened. I have no idea why.
September 1, 2008 at 4:22 pm
I’m breeding villagers with purple and red hair. “unfortunately” that involves killing the ones not suitable for breeding >.< The burn potion kills them the fastest if you give it 4 times to the same dude.
September 7, 2008 at 2:26 pm
is there a stew that will kill your villagers i want a game over and the fire has been out for three weeks help plz.
September 7, 2008 at 4:52 pm
My brother messed with the coloring of the villager’s hair color in Paint. Now they’re wearing white boxes around themselves. Help!!!
September 10, 2008 at 1:43 pm
Hey Does anyone know what the maximum population is, I currently have 75
September 10, 2008 at 2:27 pm
Hey,
Another question: When waiting 24 hrs to ring the gong, is this game hrs, or real time.
June 6, 2013 at 10:06 am
real time
September 20, 2008 at 8:29 am
hey sally thx for the help
September 20, 2008 at 3:20 pm
HEHEHEHE THE MAXIMUM POPULATION IS 90 BUT IF YOU HAVE TRIPLETS YOU WILL HAVE 92 IF YOU HAVE TWINS YOU WILL HAVE 91 BY THE WAY THIS GAME RULES!!!!!:):):):)
July 14, 2018 at 4:57 am
Maximum population is 115!
September 20, 2008 at 3:20 pm
how do change the color of your villagers hair?
September 20, 2008 at 3:38 pm
fast skill of doctor:
1.make a stew add ingredients and all.
2.drag a person to one of the herbs
3.it will say at the bottom “she/he see the strange plant”
4.make sure that she/he is studying the strange plant
5. at the bottom it will say “your villager improved at healing”
6. keep doing this and in no time they will be a master doctor.
7.have fun hope i helped you peeps
September 20, 2008 at 3:52 pm
but one more thing to build the villagers skill use the stew that makes people sick to get that person more experience it helps
September 21, 2008 at 7:36 am

October 3, 2008 at 9:57 am
Can someone please confirm one thing- does this game actually end or not?
I have finished all the puzzles and gonged the gong for several days and really am bored of just wathcing my 73+ villagers run around
Is there any conclusion? Dont we ever find out what happened to the parents mentioned in the writing on the wall?
Is there any point in continuing to max pop, collecting all beetles and having more the 4 totems?
If not I will be a little disappointed- I love the game but it needs closure!!\If yes then someone please tell me how to finish!
thanks
October 13, 2008 at 12:07 pm
yeah… i don’t understand the whole recipe theing. i mean once you discover the plants… then what? how are you supposed to make the stew???
October 19, 2008 at 2:57 am
Here’s a little something:
To quickly boost food/tech points, you could pause the game and drag all of your children to collect collectibles/mushrooms! The children all appear holding it when you resume it again 😀
BUT the objects won’t appear if there are ALREADY some in the map (those would disappear in pause mode lol) or you have JUST given in a mushroom/collectible.
Oh and if you click around too much (whilst dragging the kids etc.) the ‘new’ kids won’t pick it up xD
I guess it’s not that practical…
but hey, if you get bored…
October 25, 2008 at 7:27 am

November 3, 2008 at 8:49 pm
My whole village is starving! So I made the health stew thingie, but when I try to make them drink it, it says that ‘they’re to hungry for this’ or something like that. Did I make it wrong? First I set it to prepare stew, then I added water, and then the ingredience that were on here. But then that happens… UGH! Someone help me! (and my villagers!)
May 3, 2009 at 4:29 pm

November 15, 2008 at 8:50 pm
Help! I have solved all the puzzles except the part of the gong in the deep water. I made the stew for no need to breathe, but when I put a villager on the ledge they see the piece, but say it’s too deep.
May 3, 2009 at 4:27 pm
u have to put the one that does not need to breathe in the water where the gong is.
November 16, 2008 at 10:07 pm
The last gong piece I have left is in the crate, which I’ve already opened, but none of my villagers will pick it up. Any ideas???? That’s the only thing holding me back in the game.

November 29, 2008 at 10:54 am
Hi, I have VV1, VV2 and VV3 but something very bad happens don’t know why.In VV1 only two times came an event, in all the game, and in VV2, doesn’t matter what I do, how many times I re-start the game, no events at all.Can anybody help me, please?
Is there a stew recipe to make women pregnant?
Thanks very much, I do appreciate your hrlp.rebakan
December 30, 2010 at 6:08 pm
There isno recipy to make a women pregnent, but the one for embracing if eaten by a man and women can sometimes lead to “going inside”
December 24, 2008 at 11:26 am
If you want to generate tech points faster you have to have elders
December 24, 2008 at 11:46 am
Heck, why hasn’t the algae in my ocean showed up? I’ve got level two of everything except science…and they still fish there but they like to farm more
December 24, 2008 at 2:10 pm
do you need a totem to ring the gong?
December 30, 2008 at 12:44 pm
I have played for 231 hours, have had 97 kids, and have 80 villagers, and I have completed all of the puzzles, and almost all of the collections, and I still dont know what to do next! What do I do with the ancient moziac and the gong? Do I ring the gong some how?
December 30, 2008 at 12:46 pm
You can also get tech points faster/food faster if you have more than 5 kids and drag them ALL on the mushroom/collectable. Half or all the kids will pick up the item and either give it to the scientist or the food bin. If works better with the more kids you have.
January 14, 2009 at 12:17 pm
woohoo i got my first totem from 17 year old Basho!
January 31, 2009 at 10:21 pm
How did you do that my ppl are like 40 and i dont have any totems
where are the beetles
February 1, 2009 at 3:57 pm
You have to have people who are masters in 3 subjects
and
get exploration level 3
(Basho got two head starts when he was born. Healing and Research. Then he went burly and started building)
By the way, how do I keep my Fauna (who has a million kids and started having babies at 17 years) from kissing the aphrodisiac Gary?
February 3, 2009 at 7:28 pm
i know how u get a totem, but how did u get an elder so young
February 3, 2009 at 7:31 pm
O, never mind
to stop her, you could kill her or kill him LOL
February 3, 2009 at 7:41 pm
i just got the scare crow and it’s creapy looking. if i was a crow,i wouldn’t go there
February 3, 2009 at 8:03 pm

February 4, 2009 at 7:36 pm
hi guys!! i need some help!! im having trouble getting my villagers to the master farming level so i can make the sharp tools to cut the berry patch thing!! am i doing something wrong??? help pleaSE!!!
June 6, 2013 at 10:19 am
you need a master scientist
February 6, 2009 at 5:51 pm
do u have a farm yet, because that helps them get to master instead of adept. if you do have a farm try making a scare crow. Or you can just let them work and wait
February 8, 2009 at 4:04 pm
What if you only have one villager left?
What do you do then?
February 9, 2009 at 4:47 pm
Just wait for themto die, i had one kid that lived by eating mushrooms and grew to be 66
February 10, 2009 at 6:00 pm
okkk so what else is there to build? i need to enhance my villagers building skills but all i can do right now is wait to accumulate tech points so i can get level 3 farming. right now all i have is the farm that they work on and researching. the sewing hut is built and the bush by the gong is cleared out (arent there supposed to be berries coming out of it eventually?) HELP PLEASE
February 10, 2009 at 7:36 pm
There isn’t anything to build at that time, i’m in the same situation only i have level 3 farming (but i just got it, so i was in the same situation)
there aren’t any berries, those are in the VV1, but there are beetles that come from the cleared vines
February 10, 2009 at 7:38 pm
There isn’t anything to build at that time, i’m in the same situation only i have level 3 farming (but i just got it, so i was in the same situation)
there aren’t any berries but instead there are beetles
February 10, 2009 at 10:50 pm
oookkkk thanks!!! annnnd another question….how is it that i can get a kid to become an aprentice researcher. aprentice bulider and/or aprentice farmer? i have an apprentice doctor and thats only cause she was born with a little of the healing and i dragged her onto sick villagers. there has to be a way for the others…. please help…again lol
May 4, 2009 at 6:02 pm
You cannot make apprentices of anything besides doctors. So it’s a good idea to have the kids start doctoring for a head start on a totem because being a doctor is the only thing kids can do. Besides picking up collectables and mushrooms.
May 4, 2009 at 10:38 pm
Actually, that’s not true – I had a random event that said something like “Top likes to build things – sometimes incredible things that defy logic, but the adults think his time would be better spent at the research table. What do they decide?” and you pick either “let him build” or be a scientist. I chose to let him build, and he became an apprentice builder – he was only 8 years old.
November 5, 2011 at 12:59 am
I had something similar, on VV1. I opened it and an event came up called “The Troubled Child” It said something like “Aisha is a troubled child. She doesn’t do normal child things, but she is very bright and the adults don’t know what to do with her” the options wer Let her try research, or Let her try farming. I chose let her try research and she became an apprentice scientist at age 9 I think. Like I said, VV1.
February 13, 2009 at 8:28 pm
IDK i’ve never had any apprentices
February 18, 2009 at 8:28 am
Can someone please tell me how to get rid of the stew that makes you horny… I have 2 villagers that literally do nothing but have sex… go eat and then back to sex… they don’t do anything else just sex and eat sex and eat!!!! and the stew has fed everyone like 500 times it don’t affect anyone but the same two people that just fuck and eat all day! does anyone else have this issue or am I the lucky winner?
January 19, 2012 at 2:33 pm
check what skill you have them set to, if its parenting then they will fuck all day. XD
February 18, 2009 at 8:33 am
hold on and there’s another villager that was on his way into the hut with a girl and right before the door her froze now the only way he moves is if you put him by the stew or drop him in the pond after he eats or gets out of the pond He freezes and don’t move… what happened?
February 21, 2009 at 11:35 am
change tribes and the stew should go away, that’s what i heard so i dont know for sure if it will work, but you can try
February 21, 2009 at 6:41 pm

February 21, 2009 at 9:05 pm

February 22, 2009 at 8:16 pm
Ok, i no that this is for V V 2. but i need help for VV3, my chief just died and im looking for a new one, so i went through the ‘detail’ screen and made everyone try on the robe, but no one is the new chief, and there is a person stuck at the top of the screen and he can’t move. HELP!!!!!!!!!
February 22, 2009 at 9:40 pm
i figured it out, did anyone else no that kids can be chiefs?
February 25, 2009 at 1:46 pm
yeah, it was funny my old chief lady Cocoa died and then her kid, Anacaona, became new chief….then Anacaona died and HER kid (which is a girl) became chief! Ana’s kid is now 52 years old. Is this girl tradition gonna go on forever?
February 28, 2009 at 4:50 pm
how can i found Tofo???
March 1, 2009 at 3:04 pm
I wanted to get my villagers sick to make the adept doctor heal them and I used the #3 recipe and it just made everyone healthy!! It said “your villager feels healthy after eating” or whatever. I only have the demo version but I don’t know if it’s a bug or not.
March 3, 2009 at 6:34 pm
It says that at random intervals, but that might trigger that by a bug or that version of the game is bugged
March 4, 2009 at 1:05 am
sweet thanx it worked and i managed to finish the game thax to the stews!! 😀
March 9, 2009 at 6:46 pm

March 10, 2009 at 8:02 pm
Another question, when I drag my villager on the plants, it says “Villager improved on healing!” but in reality… he hasn’t. I am depending on this guy to become an elder and its frustrating because he is stuck on only an Adept Doctor. I dont know if there is a trick or anything.
March 10, 2009 at 8:19 pm
also Mariia I dont think Tofo is able to be found. I never found him and I have been playing forever. I did however have this guy come over and randomly steal all Tech points from me. He wasn’t in my tribe but he was there for a minute and then a message saying that 3000 tech points were stolen. I think it was a random message though..
March 11, 2009 at 9:03 pm

March 15, 2009 at 4:06 am
there is another cheat I found out =)!! When you start up the computer and log in, look on the start bar. On the right of the start bar, it has the time e.g 7:02PM. If you double click on it and speed it up an hour or half an hour (recommended) it will speed up the villagers. E.g, my dam construction percentage was on 65%, I sped up time by an hour, and it was 89%!!!!
Thx for da awsome stews. Their yummy!!! (I tried them)
March 15, 2009 at 4:22 am
btw its my b’day in three days: the 18th of March!!!!! Send my happy birthday e-mails to guinea-piggies-7@hotmail.com!!!!
March 16, 2009 at 6:22 pm
Hello All!
This is the 2nd time that I have played this game and I still love it. The Virtual Villager series is the best. I also like that game My Tribe which is very much like Virtual Villagers but not quite. I still like the Virtual Villagers games best. Out of the three of them I think that I like the 3rd one best though. Btw, Happy Birthday Bob!
March 18, 2009 at 6:13 pm

March 18, 2009 at 6:15 pm

March 24, 2009 at 11:37 am

March 25, 2009 at 5:44 pm
yo i got 40000000 hrs for vv1
3547 for vv3
vv2 soooo hard!
March 27, 2009 at 3:39 pm
its just a little thought if you guys 2want help screwing around. it could spoil the game or make it even worse but if you start a new game get your peopl trainees on stuff so you have a foundation you can press the windows key then go to your computer clock and click adust time and skip ahead 1day doesnt matter what month or year then you apply and go back and you will have a random event. i did this for one day and got like 50random events and i have a 4 year old who is basically adept in every skill and mastered in farming and all she can do is play in the stream. its very helpful. but sometimes your get some liquids. green liquid bad. viscous orange liquid good orange liquid good . canvas sack bad. sack with oily/stain on it bad. anyother sack good either has food or tech points for it. hole in the sand good except it could be green slime which could make someone sick but no health loss so if you have a doctor just heal them and their completely fine. someone found a pearl keep to themselves. a crystal ball give it to the children. thts all i can remember. thx =)
May 20, 2009 at 8:03 pm
hole in the ground sometimes has baby snakes. careful — i (oh wait. not me. a kid) got bitten.

March 27, 2009 at 7:16 pm
i have 96 ppl and when i try to make more kids, it says ‘there isn’t enough housing to support more population’. This is a problem because my sister has 115 ppl and the same amount of housing. Can anyone help me!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!? ?
August 19, 2009 at 6:02 pm
that is ALOT of kids!!!!!!!!!!
June 6, 2013 at 10:32 am
have you finished all the collections
April 1, 2009 at 5:32 pm
O! I FIGURED IT OUT, I HAVEN’T COMPLETED ALL OF THE COLLECTIONS YET!!
April 1, 2009 at 5:57 pm
Michael, the reason your sister can have a higher population is that she’s completed collections. Each completed collection raises your max population by 5.
April 1, 2009 at 5:58 pm
Yeah, you got it. Sorry, I didn’t refresh the page for forever. ;P
April 5, 2009 at 2:46 pm

May 20, 2009 at 7:58 pm
If you’re lucky, the game’ll give you a set of four more villagers… if you’re not… starting over is the only choice…
November 5, 2011 at 1:08 am
I had that just today. I downloaded more one hour free trials because I can’t get the full version free, I opened VV2, which doesn’t usually continue where I left off, but this time it did and I had two girls left, Amina and Beta. Everyone else was dead. And Beta became obsessed with burying the dead, lol. I just started over because I couldn’t do much with one girl who did hardly anything unless I told her to, and another who liked burying the dead.
April 14, 2009 at 2:20 am
Restart.
April 14, 2009 at 5:01 pm
erin, does she keep getting pregenant while shes still pregnant, or after she leaves the kid. Because if its the latter of the two, then go onto the ‘details’ screen and uncheck the parenting box. if its the first one then kill her
April 15, 2009 at 7:59 pm
What exactly does the sweet smelling stew do?
May 30, 2010 at 1:30 pm
nothing. it just feeds them.
April 16, 2009 at 7:54 pm
Thanks for this!! Helped me out – especially with the screen shots! Great job! 🙂
April 26, 2009 at 2:46 pm
Thanks! Been playing this on my iPod Touch for a few days now, having a recipe list really comes in handy 😀
April 28, 2009 at 2:14 am
Hey… So I sent one of my villagers to retrieve the cauldron and he was carrying it to the fir when one of my other villagers accomplished a task… All of the villagers automatically stopped what they were doing to go celebrate and now the cauldron is gone 😦
Does anyone know if there is anything I can do to recover it?
April 28, 2009 at 3:31 pm
Did you try exiting out of the game and then going back in? Maybe it will reset it.
August 19, 2009 at 5:58 pm
it DOES reset it. (luckily) happened to me once.
May 3, 2009 at 4:09 pm

May 16, 2009 at 8:30 pm
I have a villager that is a parent. I have her set that way. What I was wondering is it says that shes elderly and not intrested. But wouldn’t she run away rather than going indoors again? Shes 52, and the only skill left is being a parent. But shes distracting to some of the men in the village.
August 19, 2009 at 5:56 pm
she will go indoors, but she won’t get a baby.
May 16, 2009 at 8:32 pm
Whats the age limit on females having babies anyway?
May 17, 2009 at 1:08 am
I can’t remember for certain, but I’m pretty sure that I had a female get pregnant in her early 40’s.
July 3, 2009 at 3:19 pm
I had one I’m her 60s
May 21, 2009 at 2:39 am
I can’t load my game anymore. 😦 I finished all the puzzles, and was living out the rest of my villagers lives (they’re all male – I was trying to see if I’d get a few more villagers), trying to buy the last tech points in science, I think (whatever is 160000), and every time I launch this game on my iPod Touch, it crashes! I’m so sad. 😦
July 30, 2009 at 5:54 am
The one on the ipod has a lot of crashes in it. My Ipod did the same thing and i would have to turn of my Ipod and bak on. I hope they get that fixed.
June 1, 2009 at 11:27 am
There is also a recipe I can’t remember but it made them go to the bathroom. Honest!
June 6, 2009 at 9:02 am

Help! My doctor keeps healing people, but his skill won’t go up. It even says he improved at healing but when i checked the bar it hadnt moved. Help!
June 16, 2009 at 1:46 pm
I haven’t seen this clue here – for new users needing a lot tech points to make sure the villagers don’t starve before the farm is in.
RUN THE PROGRAM AT 1/2 SPEED until they have enough tech points. They age slower and consume less food, BUT they accumulate tech points at the normal level.
Order of Importance:
1) Food (for Coconuts)
2) Engineering (to build Dam for farm)
Don’t forget to build the scarecrow.
3) Don’t have babies until you have a secure food supply.
Blessings!
April 10, 2011 at 7:13 pm
who do u make the scarecrow?
i need to know or the birds will keep on stealing my food plz tell me.

July 3, 2009 at 10:55 am
one of my villagers just received “the love letter” which was where he got a lovenote from a secret admirer, and I got the choice of making. him right one back or spy and try to figure out who wrote it, well not to be rude. I made him write one back and it said they wrote several back and forth but never figured out who wrote them ( it did say she was a farmer but we have two villagers with farming skill) but ( LOL ) he learned how to talk smooth with the ladies, so I think he might have gained parenting skills but I can’t tell. has one of your villigers ever recieved the love note? if so what happened? plz reply
October 4, 2009 at 9:36 pm
I did get the love letter and decided to hide and watch. After the person that sent it comes back you go out to confront them and uh oh they make a baby. 🙂
July 5, 2009 at 2:58 pm
i found 18 recipes.
July 30, 2009 at 5:58 am
I tried VV2 on my Ipod touch because i got tired of only playing 1hour demos. The game can not let you go far in 1hour. So anyway, stupid me i got the lite version (free) but now im really far. And i only get 8 ppl because its the free game. I dont even know if the file will move over when i buy the reall game for my Ipod.
August 5, 2009 at 2:50 pm
i have the life ipod version too 🙂
September 12, 2009 at 9:36 pm
Sweet
December 30, 2010 at 5:48 pm
Ok if u buy the full version it will not transfur it, googled it. Also if you want more ppl set two adults preferences to parent and feed them the love potion or, “embracing stew” after quite a few tries it worked for me, but sometimes u don’t even need to use the stew, but don’t forget to change there preference back later or u get more babies. It worked for me and I have lite version
August 5, 2009 at 2:26 pm
hey, uh, my villagers are making that kissing noise but not having kids, what do i do ??
plase 🙂
May 30, 2010 at 1:24 pm
they may be too old or too hungry or not enough houses.
August 9, 2009 at 7:06 pm
how to make a stew for dummies 😛
first start the fire by gathering dry grass from the upper left corner, near the coconut trees. you can do that by dragging a villager there.
then gather dry wood from the lower left corner near the big broken hut.
then drag a villager onto the fire place and he starts the fire. you have also completed the first puzzle.
send a villager to inspect the plants first. after they researched the plants, you can use them for your stews. you have now completes the 5th puzzle
you then need to find the cauldron underneath the dry wood. i managed to find it after i’ve bought level 2 exploring from the tech button after gathering the necessary tech points. you can gather tech points by dragging villagers to the research table near the hut.
after you have a fire and a cauldron, drag a villager to the cauldron. he will bring water for the stew.
after that drag him to the cauldron again and he will add food to the stew.
drag the villager to the first plant you want to mix into the stew and he will bring it to the cauldron. then drag him to the second, then the third and the stew is ready. you have also completed the 11 puzzle.
do not interrupt the villager before completing the task or he will drop the wood, water, plant, or food and you will have to command him to do it again.
you can get some other hints by clicking the mask placed left from the tech, collection and menu buttons.
August 19, 2009 at 8:19 pm

if they are making the kissing noise but don’t get a baby, check the bottom. if it says too hungry to think about it, make more people farm. if it says not enough housing, then i think it is obvious. build another house. and if it says nothing, just try a little more.
August 19, 2009 at 8:23 pm

Here is a trick to get mutilple food out of one mushroom pause the game when you see a mushroom pause the game (you can pause the game by pushing the space bar)and drag 2,3,4,or even 5 kids (or as many as you want) and put them on top of the mushroom and make sure that it says on the kids action picking mushroom and when you have all of the kids on it press the space bar again. Some of the kids will pick it some wont (sometimes only 1 kid will pick it! This Cheat also works with the collection items!!!!

September 12, 2009 at 9:41 pm

September 12, 2009 at 9:42 pm
PS. there was no reason for that message.
May 31, 2010 at 10:45 am
I once had a woman like that, she was like a baby machine. she was always either carrying a baby or doing “it”. possibly this is to get out of work.(if they were real and had personalities.)
May 31, 2010 at 10:52 am
p.s. there was no reason for that either.
September 26, 2009 at 6:32 pm
I am now making VV1, without using any cheat, then I will make VV2 without any cheat and then VV3 without any cheat too, because it`s kinda boring if you just speed up…a, and if you want either VV1, VV2 or VV3 jus send me an e-mail to niss_stargirl@yahoo.com.mx (Yep, I`m from Mexico) and I will guive u the crack.
October 4, 2009 at 9:52 pm
Just a little note for anybody that wants to use it. I have been making apprentice builders and doctors with my children as early as age 2. I just make stews that make them excersise to build up BUILDING skill and stew to make people sick then drop child on them to heal and they start learning HEALING skill. Don’t know how to force them to be appentice in FARMING, REASEARCHING, or PARENTING yet.
November 19, 2009 at 9:12 pm
thx soooo much!
May 31, 2010 at 10:06 am
thank you so much for this tip! hopefully when my apprentices are 17 or so I’ll have another master! I think to get an apprentice in the other ones they have to inherit the skills.
October 5, 2009 at 7:27 pm
I have only 2 old people left and I have made a lot of progress…… I only left for a day and 6 died, so how can I make the old lady pregnant? She is about 55.
May 30, 2010 at 1:18 pm
you can’t, I think you will have to start fresh with another account.
May 31, 2010 at 10:53 am
sorry, village, not account.
October 11, 2009 at 1:35 am
Wah,so cool that makes me happy.
November 1, 2009 at 3:23 am
I’m down to my last beetle (the last rare one, bottom right). Is there some trick to getting it? I’ve went so far as to stare at the “beetle area” (in front of the gong encasement) for hours on end, with no luck. The only thing I haven’t finished (as far as I know) is that I haven’t made every stew.
November 1, 2009 at 3:49 pm

December 22, 2009 at 9:42 am

November 9, 2009 at 3:11 am
How do I get my female villager who is 51 pregnant?? Is the limit to having a child 50?

November 16, 2009 at 2:03 am
there was an island event that someone has to open up something with springs on it, I opened it up and the result was many of my villagers died but my tech points went up to like 60 or 70k. leaving me four adults and two children just like how does it started. Strange but i think that is the effect of the event.
November 16, 2009 at 2:05 am
There’s this one island event that says i have to open up a sack or something so i chose to open it up and resulted to my tech points went up to about 70k but my villagers died leaving me four adults and two children. strange but I think that’s an efect of the event.

May 30, 2010 at 1:15 pm
you could just use the aphrodisiac, it will make them “busy”.
December 22, 2009 at 9:41 am
OH, one more thing!
DO NOT PUT YOUR GAME ON FAST SPEED (well, i have it on my iPod), it killed all my peeps 😦
It said Action: decomposing. EW!
May 30, 2010 at 1:10 pm
just put it on fast speed when you are playing and pause or half speed when you aren’t playing and they’ll be fine.
December 23, 2009 at 10:50 am
i usually keep it on x2 speed an my people are fine
December 23, 2009 at 10:55 am
my people dont have alot of food there relying on their crops,i have some more people now and they have even less food, i gave one that stew that makes them very ill and nothing happend they just said they wernt feeling well she has full health.
how can i kill her?
May 30, 2010 at 1:05 pm
just wait, when they get sick they don’t instantly lower their health, they will die eventually. in the meantime, make sure nobody heals them(if they are children, put the on that little island near the edge of the pond next to the waterfall, then they can’t get off).
January 24, 2010 at 7:21 pm
I beet it in 4 hours with slow time
January 27, 2010 at 8:29 pm
oh my gosh thx so much! my villagers were about to die so i used completly restores health.

March 1, 2010 at 3:57 pm
Hi, please help me.
I have just started playing the game and I don’t know how to cook, I tryed but I didn’t sucsee. I took a bowl of water and a hot rock, three diff herbs but still, nothing happends.
The only way for me to collect food now is to harvest blackberries and collecting mushrooms. It’s getting low on blackberries, and I only have a love shack and a nother building which I can’t remember the name of.
Please help me, how do i get more food? And how do I unlock new things? I find it so hard, i really need help.
Sorry my bad english, I’m from Norway.
March 1, 2010 at 5:56 pm
Hey there…I just wrote a new walkthrough for the latest VV game (tree of life) which I’m assume is the one you’re playing since you mentioned hot rocks. To cook the stew after adding the water, just drag a villager to the food bin.
check the homepage for the new vv walkthrough!
December 15, 2011 at 9:46 pm
bret says:
thank you for the walk through. they really help.
March 1, 2010 at 9:07 pm

April 3, 2010 at 5:18 pm

April 5, 2010 at 2:31 pm
I made the very ill stew and am trying to kill off some of my children because my adults got “BUSY” wile i was gone. there sick but not dead yet. how long does it take for them to die? I dont have much food left. PLEASE HELP all are going to die if the few dont die!
September 11, 2010 at 8:07 pm
Once there was a girl who didn’t like running so I gave her the ill stew to try and kill her. I left the game overnight (idk if it was 2x speed or half speed) and the next day she was a lot less healthy than before, and still sick, but still alive. Then someone healed her (grr) and I never did manage to kill her. But she made a good mother when she grew up 🙂
April 5, 2010 at 2:39 pm
Is there an easier way of killing them??????
April 14, 2010 at 6:06 pm
Does exercise increase their building skill? Please let me know as soon as you can! 🙂
May 30, 2010 at 1:21 pm
possibly. I think it’s random or it’s only with the rock lifting.

May 30, 2010 at 12:45 pm
maybe she was just too old? stews can’t make people immortal…
May 28, 2010 at 10:28 am
This may be a dumb question. I realize it involves the herbs located around the map. I have the puzzle. But how do you actual make the stew?
May 30, 2010 at 12:47 pm
to make stew, you have to have the cauldron from the pile of wood(I think from the wood pile; not sure). I don’t even know how I got mine, though, it just turned up near the fire 1 day…
May 30, 2010 at 12:50 pm
oh,yeah, then you have to drag a villager to the stew 3 times, then drag a villager to the herbs you want to use. if you’re lucky, you’ll get a villager who likes running, then it’ll go a lot faster.
May 12, 2011 at 5:37 am
that sooooooo cute
mine got dead mean he was sooo sick!
August 30, 2010 at 9:48 pm
Actually, in order to make stews, you must first recover the cauldron from the wood pile in the southwest. It will appear after you purchase Level Two Exploration. With the fire burning and the cauldron next to it, drop a villager on the cauldron three times. Once each to put it on the fire, fill it with water and add food. Then, drop a villager on any of the herbs you have mastered adding a total of three to the mix in any combination (you can use multiples of the same herb).
May 31, 2010 at 12:36 pm
Hi, ive got a question. How do i collect the herbs?
November 28, 2010 at 7:40 pm
You don’t really collect the herbs, at least in the game I have you can’t. You only can “get” them when your making stew, but all the herbs you pick go in the stew. Hope this helped! 🙂
June 22, 2010 at 8:59 pm
i dont know where the last gong part is the puzzle 14 one
i have everything else but dont know where that one is
can someone help?
December 12, 2010 at 3:43 pm
it is in the crate i heard that from a walkthrough or use the no need to breathe stew and drag a villager to the water and they will retrive it hope that helped u? :}
July 2, 2010 at 7:38 am
i dont get it
do you drag them to the black flower an then drag them twice on the orange flower to make them breathe under water
what do you do??
please write back xxx
September 11, 2010 at 8:11 pm
You have to make a stew. To do that you have to have level 2 exploration and get the bowl (which you will find with the firewood) Once the bowl is by the fire, drag someone there and they will prepare it. Drag them again to get water, and again when they are done to get food. While you wait for them to finish, drag one villager to the black flower and two to the orange. It takes a while, but when you are done you will have a stew and get the gong piece.

October 15, 2010 at 8:51 pm
Thank you soooo much! I played the game for ever and ever and ever and could NOT figure out how to retrieve the gong piece from the swimming pool until I saw the recipe for not breathing. Life for my village just went on and on rather pointlessly because everything else was done. I had even written a list of what I thought was every possible stew combination, but obviously I missed this one!
October 15, 2010 at 8:52 pm
P.S. The first herb is at the top LEFT not right of the map. 🙂 Someone may have already pointed it out and if so, I apologize for redundancy.
October 16, 2010 at 1:03 pm
i can’t seem to get the fertility one to work…. it’s 6+6+5 right?
November 28, 2010 at 7:37 pm
I may be stupid for asking this question, but is it possible to get another food bin? I had this crazy problem that I never thought would happen. I was somewhere in the 4,000 for food, and my bin almost exploded! I saved it just in time by making the whole village eat from it a bunch of times, but my people wouldn’t stop fishing and harvesting. Now, even when I’ve changed all the things they prefer doing, they still try to fish and harvest, and it’s really hard trying to make sure they won’t do it, especially when I have about 34 people. Oh, and if this changes anything, I have it on my ipod touch. (Virtual Villagers 2:Lost Children) PLEASE HELP!!!!!
February 27, 2011 at 10:04 am
I’ve had 99 people (max) and that’s NEVER** happened to me LOL XD
November 30, 2010 at 12:13 am

Are there ever any negative effects to 5 5 5, cause I have a new mom and once she can wirk and do stuff again I want to try to build her building skills and I heard this could help, I really don’t want her to die tho cause she is almost an elder.
December 30, 2010 at 6:21 pm
Here’s a fun fact, (this is on lite version for iPod so idk if it is same for computer)
when a villigers becomes fifty five their hair changes color!
I also have a coue questions
does building the sewing hut and hospital build building skills?
Who is tofo?
What does it mean that my villiger likes wind, or likes blue?
What does it mean that my villiger dislikes monkeys, dancing, or suprises?
December 30, 2010 at 6:28 pm
Also what does it mean if the dislike wood? Will they not gather firewood?
What if they like sand?
December 30, 2010 at 9:24 pm
Yes, building the sewing hut and hospital buil building skills.
He is the person who was left in charge of the children and nobody knows what happened to him.
Well it just means they like it. If they like something or dislike something, it sometimes affects what you tell them to do.
For example, if they do not like fish, they will not fish. If they do not like firewood, they wont gather firewood and liking sand doesn’t affect anything. LOL
January 18, 2011 at 2:51 pm
how do u cloge the stream to feed the people so they dont die
February 2, 2011 at 7:18 pm

November 5, 2011 at 1:28 am
The crate is for the gong piece. The cauldron (black pot) is in the firewood when you have level 2 exploration. I did this when I had heaps of tech points and two female villagers left before starting over.
March 9, 2011 at 5:58 pm

June 23, 2011 at 12:49 pm
Trick: Everyone knows that fast forwarding the clock on your computer will advance you further, but the trick is to go back a few hours, a little bit later. I fast forwarded 3 hours, and i had now three new babies and a new hut under construction. I went back the same 3 hours and the babies and hut were still there, but the villagers didnt age!

August 19, 2011 at 4:37 pm
okay first you need level 2 in enginneering then you woud want to have algae in your water because once you build the dam it irrigates the fertile soil to grow crops okay drag a villager to the part where the stream narrows then he/she will start constructing the dam drag more people to the dam area to get it done faster.

November 25, 2011 at 5:22 pm
Do you have to get ther herbs in order? And everytime i try to get the black herb for the no need to breath stew, he just studies it instead of taking in back to the pot. Does it take a few tries for them to finish studying the plant?
November 25, 2011 at 11:14 pm
I don’t think u have to get them in order. And yea it took Mine a couple times to get them to make it. Any one know hen a villager usually dies lik wut age? Not to be mean but I have a free version for my phone ( only problem is that the max pop is only 9. I really want to have a new baby in the village but I’m already at 9 thanks 🙂
April 6, 2012 at 11:29 pm
Have you finished constructing the huts? If you have, surely the max population would increase.
March 14, 2013 at 5:34 am
do you have the free version of the game? because then the max is nine and you’d have to buy the game and start over for it to increase. I learned that one the hard way. 21 strong and 15000 food in my new one though 🙂
November 29, 2011 at 12:59 am
hey does anyone know how to make the kids remember anything? because they only remembered one thing and it was just the “we remember the adult looking for something” and now i’m hearing all this stuff about Tofo and now I’m really curious. Also I really don’t understand why there would be a waterfall in a cave.
May 25, 2013 at 6:25 am
2things:its not really a cave but a natural tunnel, its not really IN the cave-tunnel its at the end of it.I dont know about you but 2 years ago in 2nd grade we learned to under stand what we’re reading, not just reading it.
December 1, 2011 at 10:13 am
how can u take herbs…..my villagers r just studin them
December 22, 2011 at 10:42 am
I think you have to get a pot then start a fire, fill the pot with water, it will say “starting to prepare a stew…” then drop them on the herbs.
January 2, 2012 at 10:27 pm
How to get the stew pot?
May 25, 2013 at 6:10 am

how do i get rid of the thorny bushes and also how do you get the stew pot out of the drift wood???
September 18, 2012 at 10:12 am
Ya pick it up,duh. And uh i think you get a master scientist drop it on the rocks where the blue rose-herb is and then on the roots there (or what ever there called) and when the time is right you will see some pointed tip rocks and you put the villager there and when he or she is done you will see the spears leaning against the research hut.theeeeeeeen you take i think a master builder (or else a master farmer or master scientist) and drop him on the bushes(or is it on the spear I dont remember mine do it on there own just try both) and he’ll do it.Good if you use several villagers.
January 3, 2012 at 8:57 pm
where do i find the stew pot?

Random shiny coin event
During a point in the game a random event will tell you that one of your villagers has found a shiny coin. You will get two options. You can either put it on your clothes (or something similar) or give it to scientist to study. If you keep the coin for yourself you will level up to Culture level 2 without using any tech points. If you give to the scientist to study you will only get a few Tech Points back.

Keeping children in one location
During game play, items will appear and you will need a child to collect it for you. One way to keep track where the children are is by using the spot next to where the Gong Of Wonder is located. Place the children in between the large totem’s mouth and the thorns. There is a small opening where you can move children or adults to, and they will stay there until you move them. Note: Sometimes they can get out by themselves.
January 19, 2013 at 2:24 pm
Crops
Get level 2 of farming and a master farmer. Drag them onto the patch south of the village. The villagers should discover the crop patch. Your villagers will keep watering it until they grow. The villagers will then harvest the crops.
Master Doctor
If you are not getting any sick villagers to get a master doctor, get the doctor to keep studying the cactus that is north of the village. A message will appear stating that the villager hasimproved at healing.
Strange patch
To water the strange patch on the east of the island, you must clear the lagoon. Once done, have your villagers get water out of the lagoon and water it. This will require a few turns until beautiful flowers appear.
Select the gender of your next baby
Have the woman selected. Let them go indoors, and while they are inside press 3 for a girl or 2 for a boy.

Like the first Virtual Villagers game, the sequel is packed with challenging puzzles and quirks. To help you succeed, I’ve compiled a list of tips, tricks and cheats to make solving the game less frustrating. If you haven’t downloaded the game yet, you can download Virtual Villagers 2 here.
For a game walkthrough and hints for Virtual Villagers 3: The Secret City see the tips for Virtual Villagers 3.
General Virtual Villagers 2: The Lost Children Tips
Finding more food – if you are running low on food, you can game the food system by sending every available villager to gather food at once. Send a mass of villagers to harvest crops or a coconut tree and you can often get far more than the normal yield for the food.
Game Speed – while playing the game, keep it at Normal or 2xSpeed. When you step away from the game for an extended period (like 24 hours or more), be sure to pause the game so all your villagers don’t die.
Villager Skills – Assign skills to each villager on the villager’s detail page. You can train villagers by pointing them in the direction of a task you want them to do, like farming or building.
Exploration – Gain exploration skills by sending villagers to examine every corner of the map (and all the space in between the corners).
Solving the Puzzles
– The 16 puzzles require a combination of skills in order to solve. You’ll need a certain level of village technology, exploration skills, farming knowledge, and in some cases other puzzles completed prior to completing another puzzle. This list of tips provides clues for solving each of the puzzles – there are spoilers here, so don’t read them if you want to be surprised.
Puzzle #1 – Build a fire in the fire pit by dragging a villager to the pile of dry wood in the southwest part of the village. After there’s wood in the fire pit, have them find some dry grass west of the coconut trees. After both grass and wood are in the fire pit, drag a villager to the pit so they light the fire. The supply will need to be restocked periodically our your fire will go out.
Puzzle #2 – Build a dam to route water from the stream to a suitable farming location. After getting Level 2 Engineering, drag a villager to the rocks in the middle of the lower end of the stream. As long as you have the Engineering Tech, you will see a message about building a dam.
Puzzle #3 – Build a scarecrow to protect the crops from birds by dragging a Master Farmer to the twisted wood and vines located in the northern corner of the village. You’ll need to bring supplies back to the farm area twice in order to get enough supplies to complete the scarecrow. If you don’t finish construction on the scarecrow, birds will eat your crops.
Puzzle #4 – Make cutting tools to remove overgrown vegetation around the village. After acquiring Exploration Tech Level 2, drag a Master Scientist to the northern part of the village to the rocks by the twisted wood and vines. Something will be discovered and two trips will be required to make special tools.
Puzzle #5 – Master six plants located around the village. You will know each plant is mastered when a message appears on screen. Starting with the odd-looking plant just left of the very dry grass in the northwest part of the village, move clockwise toward the blue flower between the thorns and rocks. Next find the small lavender flower at the north end of the graveyard, followed by the black flowers by the waterfall. Proceed to the reddish flowers south of the dam. Close with the orangish-red flower at the south edge of the village.
Puzzle #6 – You must create the Esteemed Elder, which requires having one villager become a master in three skills. A totem is created in the village.
Puzzle #7 – Remove the algae in the ocean caused by over fishing. After achieving Farming Tech Level 3, take a Master Farmer or Master Scientist to the pond where they will gather algae eating fish used to re-populate the ocean. You will have unrestricted fishing when enough fish are returned to the sea.
Puzzle #8 – Remove vines covering the wall on the east side of the village. Get Level 3 Culture Tech and be sure to complete Puzzle #4 before dragging a villager to the vine-covered wall, the villager will begin cutting away the vines.
Puzzle #9 – Make stews for your villagers. Exploration Tech Level 2 is required, along with a cauldron from the wood pile and mastery of at least one of the special plants from Puzzle #5.
How to make a stew:
1 – Place a villager on the cauldron to put it on the fire.
2 – Place a villager on the cauldron a second time to get water for the stew.
3 – Place a villager on a mastered plant to gather herbs for the stew. (Each stew requires 3 herbs)
4 – Place a villager on the cauldron and the villager will add food to the stew.
5 – When the stew is finished, the villager will move the cauldron off the fire.
The stews have varying effects on villagers, from curing disease to making them a bit strange. Try different combinations of plants to get different results.
Puzzle #10 – Uncover the ancient covered floor in the southeast part of the village by dragging a villager with Level 3 of Engineering Tech and Exploration Tech to the location.
Puzzle #11 – Construct a hospital. Get both Engineering Tech and Medicine Tech Level 3 and a foundation will appear for the villagers to construct a hospital.
Puzzle #12 – Build a sewing hut. Get Culture Tech Level 2 and Science Tech Level 2. A foundation will appear for villagers to build on. This sewing hut allows you to change the villagers clothing.
Puzzles 13-16 are all part of the Gong of Wonder, which is the final challenge of the game. The four parts of the Gong of Wonder are:
Puzzle #13 – Take 3 Master Builders to the crate on the beach where one of the gong pieces are hidden.
Puzzle #14 – Clear thorns blocking access to the gong encasement. With Exploration Tech Level 2, clear away the thorns covering the gong encasement revealing a piece of the gong.
Puzzle #15 – Using the stew making steps from Puzzle #9, make a stew to allow a villager to dive for the sunken gong piece in the pond. Use one black flower and two orange-red flowers from the south side of the village. You can see the required herbs on the wall where you removed vines in an earlier puzzle.
Puzzle #16 – With Puzzles #6 and #10 complete, drop the totem in the center of the mosaic discovered in puzzle #10. This will assemble the gong. Bang the gong a maximum of once every 24 hours (in game time) to see what impact it has on the village

On virtual villagers how do you complete all the puzzles?
Answer:
Puzzle 1 requires a builder to clean up the well, so that there will be a source of fresh water for your tribe. Drag a villager with some building skill to the well.
Puzzle 2 is the first of 3 additional huts that your villagers will construct as your population grows and your villagers require more housing. The huts will be initiated, as needed, by one of your builders. Your population is limited to 7 villagers until the first hut is finished. Once it’s finished, your tribe can grow to a population of 15. The second hut allows your population to expand to 30 villagers, and the final hut allows your population to grow to the population limit of approximately 90 villagers. You must have a villager trained in building in order to build the new huts. At the start of the game, one of your builders already has skill in building and will work on the hut unless you retrain them and assign them to a different occupation. It’s important to make sure that you have at least one builder in your village so that you will be able to provide additional housing for your growing tribe. If none of your villagers has any skill in building, and you need to train a builder, your villagers can gain building skill by fixing any of the 3 huts that they have constructed.
Puzzle 3 is completed by cleaning up the debris on the beach. Completion of this puzzle is required before your villagers will be able to fish in the ocean (which also requires Level 3 of Harvesting). Drag a villager to the debris field and they will begin cleaning up the beach.
Puzzle 4 is the founding of a school for your village. Drag a master scientist to the long building north of the research table.
Puzzle 5 is completed by removing the blockage from the creek in the northwest corner of the village. Your villagers will need to have researched Level 2 of Construction to work on this puzzle. Drag a villager to the pile of rocks blocking the flow of water from the creek. Once the blockage is cleared, the water will flow into a sparkling lagoon that your villagers will use for various work and leisure activities. This puzzle is a key to three other puzzles.
Puzzle 6 is dependent upon the completion of the lagoon and level 3 of Harvesting. Take a master farmer to the lagoon, and they will begin hunting a strange fish. It may take many tries before they succeed, so be patient and keep trying.
Puzzle 7 is the discovery of the graveyard and requires Level 2 of Spirituality to complete. When one of your villagers dies, drag an adult villager to the northeast corner of the island. The villagers will celebrate the discovery and will then proceed to provide a proper burial for that little pile of bones in village center. After the first burial, your villagers will initiate burials for all deceased members of the tribe.
Puzzle 8 requires that your villagers master the medicinal properties of 4 plants indigenous to the island. One plant is located south of the lagoon site, one is the cactus that’s located near the boulder, and the other two are on the east side of the island. Drag a villager to each of the 4 plants until each one is mastered.
Puzzle 9 is dependent upon the completion of the lagoon. Take one of your villagers to the field on the east side of the island (where they see dead flowers), and they will begin to water the field with the pure water from the lagoon. If you have builders in your tribe, they will begin to water the field on their own. Villagers without building skill will water the field, also, but will stop after one trip. Once your villagers have put sufficient water on the field (it takes a lot of water), the field will be revived and will once again be in full bloom.
Puzzle 10 is dependent upon the butterflies from puzzle 14. Those butterflies will be able to pollinate a special plant on the island. Once the butterflies begin to follow the Golden Child, drag him or her to the strange plant north of the berry bush.
Puzzle 11 is the restoration of the temple at the site of the ruins. After attaining Level 2 of Spirituality and Level 3 of Construction, drag one of your villagers to the ruins in the southeast portion of the island, and they will begin restoring the ruins.
Puzzle 12 is dependent upon the completion of the temple, as well as attaining Level 3 of Spirituality. Drag one of your builders to the sparkly rock on the west side of the village, and they will begin to chisel the rock.
Puzzle 13 is the birth of the Golden Child and requires the completion of the idol, the lagoon, and Level 3 in Fertility. You will need to take a nursing mom to the lagoon.
Puzzle 14 is dependent upon the Golden Child. Take the Golden Child to the Magic Flower Garden.
Puzzle 15 is a buried treasure. Its location can be discovered only by a master builder. Your tribe must also have researched Level 3 in both Construction and Science before they have the technology required to make the discovery. You must actually drop your builder in the right location – dragging him around won’t help you find it. Look for the message, “Is something buried here?” to tell you that you’re in the right place. If you want a hint for the location, highlight the following white text: Try dropping your builder in various sandy places in the lower half of the village map to see if he notices anything. If you want the exact location, highlight this text: Try dropping your builder directly south of the food bin in line with the temple. Once he locates something, you may have to be persistent before he will actually start digging. Keep dropping him there – it could take many, many tries. Once he starts digging, and the scaffolding appears, other builders (if you have any), regardless of skill, will start to help, too!
Puzzle 16 is the moving of the boulder, which can be done only by the Golden Child. You don’t need to make him do anything (and it won’t work if you try). Just give it some time, and he will take care of it for you. After he’s born, you should just watch him for a while, if you have the time – it’s entertaining to see him solve that puzzle, especially when you have a lot of villagers…

General Game Tips
Customize your villagers’ names. Rename your villagers in a way that sets them apart from each other by selecting the ‘Detail’ button. Select names that help you keep track of them in some way; for instance, your healer would be easier to remember if named after a doctor you know.
Explore the island as early as possible, and keep exploring throughout the game. Drop your villagers at various points of the map to look around. Keep a record of interesting features your villagers come across to explore later. Some items they find require certain skills that your early villagers don’t have, so send them back when they develop in order to interact with previously found objects.
The number keys 1 to 9 correspond to 9 preset points on the island. Move villagers around the island quickly by picking them up, pressing a number key and releasing the villager in the new location.
Villager Skills
Train more than 1 villager in each skill. Your villagers can be trained in farming, building, research, healing and parenting. You should train at least 2 villagers in each skill as early as possible. Teach the villagers by walking them through the various skills, because they learn by doing. They sometimes become distracted during the learning process and may wander off, so until they learn the job by attaining the Trainee level, you’ll have to watch them closely and nudge them back on task occasionally.
Check villagers using the “Detail” button before assigning skills. Some village children are born with an aptitude for a skill and will advance quickly if assigned that skill. This tendency to inherit skills can be useful when planning children because you can breed in certain skills by matching parents with the desired skill traits. A Master Healer is more like to produce a child with an aptitude for healing than a Master Builder. Look at a villager’s likes and dislike to determine if they might affect job efficiency. For example, If you have a villager who likes to run around, give them a job that requires lots of movement.
Puzzles
Begin solving the game’s 16 puzzles as soon as possible. Most of them require that you’ve achieved a specific level or technology and villager skills, while others require that you solve previous puzzles beforehand. Watch your villagers as they explore, as the various items they show interest in will likely be puzzle clues. Puzzles often take the form of useful game objectives, such as the first one: bringing fire to the villagers. Generally, solving these involve setting your villagers to work at several tasks, which, when chained together, solve the problem, where one or two tasks would not have worked.

Have you ever considered about including a little bit more
than just your articles? I mean, what you say is fundamental
and all. But think about if you added some great pictures or
video clips to give your posts more, “pop”! Your content is excellent
but with images and clips, this website could certainly be one of the greatest in its niche.
Superb blog!
